Thousands of Aviva Canada employees take part in third annual Climate Day

June 12, 2024 (TORONTO, ON) – Over 2,300 Aviva Canada employees across the country are going into their local communities today and throughout the month of June to help tackle climate change and biodiversity loss.

Aviva Canada has partnered with Tree Canada again this year to organize volunteer opportunities for its people to plant trees, native shrubs and pull invasive species. Tree Canada is a national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees in rural and urban environments across the country.

“Sustainability is one of four key strategic pillars at Aviva, and we know our people want opportunities to take hands-on action in support of that mandate,” says Tracy Garrad, CEO, Aviva Canada. “Into our third Climate Day, we are incredibly proud of the impact our people have made through this annual event. Every year they show up in bigger numbers to show their commitment to being a force for good in the communities where we live, work and operate.”

To get more people and organizations involved in taking climate action, Aviva has also invited some of its customers and broker partners who will be volunteering alongside employees for the day.
