Fred Shurbaji joins Aviva Canada assuming key role as Head of Small Medium Enterprise, Commercial Insurance

October 24, 2018 (Toronto, ON) – Aviva announces the appointment of Fred Shurbaji as its new Head of Small to Medium Enterprise, Commercial Insurance responsible for the growth and development of Aviva’s  commercial business. Shurbaji has previous experience with Aviva here in Canada, as well as a wide accumulation of global experience through past roles with Chubb, where he served as Chief Underwriting Officer and Senior Vice President for Chubb Commercial Insurance based in the UK. Shurbaji also worked with Chubb in key roles across Canada, including Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Earlier in his career, he spent time as an Underwriter in the United Arab Emirates and is fluent in English, French, and Arabic. The appointment of Shurbaji is the last key executive role outstanding on Aviva Canada’s leadership team, following recent appointments by CEO Colm Holmes who took the reins last March.

Fred Shurbaji will start with Aviva Canada on November 5, 2018 and will be based out of Montreal.
