Spring break plan for the whole family

The best part about the holidays is planning your next holiday! Read on for ideas to consider now for Spring break.

Surf and Sun - a getaway to Mexico, Jamaica or even a sunny American southern state is a great way to escape -Old Man Winter and get a healthy dose of vitamin D.

Snow and Fun - if winter sports are more your style, you can’t go wrong with a getaway to a ski resort or even a weeklong pass to your local ski hill. By March, most mountains will have a good snowpack and you may be lucky enough to catch fresh powder too.

Culture Week - beat the weekend crowds and take advantage of discounts to local museums, art galleries and theatres. Get your kids involved in planning ahead of time to make the most interesting and engaging itinerary.

Camp - not just for summertime, many organizations offer weeklong camps to keep kids busy learning something new. From cooking to film-making to climbing, it’s a great opportunity to foster an interest that may not be part of a typical school curriculum.

Staycation - school can be overwhelming so there’s absolutely nothing wrong with keeping it simple and spending the week cozying up and spending quality time as a family.

  • Rent some movies, make popcorn and have a pyjama party with the kids.
  • Teach your kids to bake cookies from scratch.
  • Make a stop at the library and check out a couple of great reads.
  • Do crafts, etc.
