Changes to your Legal Expense coverage
Legal Expense coverage helps you pursue or defend certain legal disputes, including but not limited to employment or contract issues. It also gives you unlimited legal advice and emotional support assistance, subject to certain exclusions.
As part of our commitment to our customers, we’re updating your Legal Expense coverage to better meet the needs of Canadians who want added legal protection.
What you need to do
Please review your policy package. When your policy renews, your Legal Expense coverage will be automatically updated.
What you need to know
Here are the key updates that you’ll see on your Certificate of Insurance (COI) in your policy package:
| Product Update | What's changing |
| Upgraded coverage | The upgraded Legal Expense coverage now includes higher coverage limits and fewer exclusions. |
| Lower cost | Legal Expense coverage is now offered at a lower annual premium. |
| Dolce Vita & Ovation® policies | Dolce Vita and Ovation® customers will now have Legal Expense coverage automatically included with increased limits. |
| National coverage | Our upgraded Legal Expense coverage is now available to all customers across Canada. This includes customers in Quebec who had the earlier version of this coverage before it was updated. |
