May 26, 2023 (Toronto, ON) - In response to the devastating wildfires that have displaced thousands, Aviva Canada is donating $50,000 towards the Canadian Red Cross 2023 Alberta Fires Appeal to aid in disaster relief efforts to help those impacted, which will be further supported by the Government of Alberta and the Federal Government matching program. Aviva Canada will also double match all employee donations.
“We understand how overwhelming and stressful it can be to have to leave your home or business under these circumstances, which is why we are waiving deductibles in all mass evacuation claims. We want our customers and Albertans to know we are here to help those affected by the devastating wildfires,” said Jason Storah, Chief Executive Officer of Aviva Canada. “The devastation being seen in Alberta is another wake-up call for businesses and governments that climate change is happening now and in order to enhance the resiliency of our communities and protect those most vulnerable, we need to take unrelenting action.”
Aviva’s claims teams are working hard to support impacted customers. Those affected can call 1-866 MYAVIVA (1-866-692-8482) or their broker to report a claim.
