Insurance Con Artist Costs Victims

Aviva Canada identified an unlicensed intermediary when multiple policies were found to have the same or similar addresses.

This individual charged a fee to customers to obtain policies on their behalf and used fraudulent rating criteria in order to obtain a cheaper premium. Successful litigation against the unlicensed intermediary resulted in a $100,000 recovery.
