Aviva Canada posts half-year 2022 results

August 10, 2022 (TORONTO, ON) – Insurer Aviva plc reported its half-year 2022 results today. Jason Storah, CEO of Aviva Canada had this to say about the Canadian performance:

“Aviva Canada delivered strong results for the first half of 2022, with a combined operating ratio (COR) of 91.7% (HY21: 88.8%) and premium growth of 6% (HY21: 6%). We’re seeing driving patterns return to pre-pandemic levels, leading to higher claims frequency and severity. While there are inflationary headwinds for the P&C industry, I’m confident that we’re well positioned to deliver for both our customers and our shareholders. We have brilliant and highly engaged teams that continue to make Aviva a great place to work, and we are delivering great outcomes for our customers, brokers and partners every day.”
