Aviva Canada expands insurance coverage for commercial customers

October 26, 2017 (Toronto, ON) – Aviva is pleased to announce the launch of Commercial Accident, a newly developed, comprehensive offering for customers through its broker partners. Complementing Aviva’s current suite of products, Commercial Accident insurance provides an additional layer of protection to customers and signals Aviva’s ongoing commitment to delivering a composite offering for commercial customers and new solutions for broker partners.

With this new Aviva product, brokers can now provide member associations, volunteer groups/events, charitable organizations and businesses expanded insurance coverage and limits without having to look to other markets to fill what had previously been a gap in coverage. With a seamless claims experience and competitive pricing, Aviva is committed to providing its broker partners comprehensive and enhanced insurance coverage options to better serve their customers and their operations.

Commercial Accident insurance offers protection to members, participants or employees if they are involved in an accident that causes death or bodily injury while on the insured customer’s property, whether at work or participating in an event on location. The policy is designed to provide financial support for members, participants and employees in times of immediate need and can cover medical and other out-of-pocket expenses typically incurred following an accident.

“As much as we encourage taking the proper safety precautions to mitigate risk of accidents, there is no failsafe to predict when an accident will happen. We are offering commercial customers a comprehensive and sensible solution to protect the people that matter, and the reputation they have worked hard to achieve,” said Terri Mitchell, Executive Director of Accident and Health at Aviva Canada.

Aviva’s Commercial Accident policy pays lump sum benefits for death, permanent total disability and paralysis. Additional reimbursement benefits that can be included in the flexible Commercial Accident policy include expenses for rehabilitation, repatriation, medical, dental, bereavement, psychological therapy, emergency transportation, day-care, education and spousal retraining.

Customers are encouraged to contact an Aviva broker for more information on insurance options that best serve their needs.
